ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Carina Scott Born in 1963, Carina Scott is an accomplished artist, musician, and breeder of quality horses. With both parents being musicians and her father serving as the head of graphic design at Edinburgh College of Art, Carina was immersed in a creative environment from an early age. Largely self-taught as a painter, Carina's artistic journey mirrors her success with breeding and producing show winning horses and Connemara ponies in Ireland and at the French National Championships. She paints in both Ireland and France, her adopted country, drawing continuous inspiration from the landscape, light, seasons, and the sensuality of nature around her. Carina's work is distinctive and vibrant, influenced by the strong light and color of southern Europe. Her bold use of paint captures the light and mood of the Irish landscape and the creatures she portrays. Her exquisite palette knife work and dynamic use of paint reflect her flair, vigor, and enthusiasm. Carina’s growing reputation as an artist is reflected in her successful exhibitions both in Ireland and internationally. Her work has been acquired by notable institutions, including Notre Dame Kylemore Abbey, and is featured in Achill Painters, a book by Mary J. Murphy. This recognition speaks to her dedication and the powerful emotional connection her work evokes. |
